At RPM we offer our clients extensive tool making capabilities, from machining the smallest electrode, to boring the largest hole; but we are far more than just a machining shop.

One of our not-so-secret weapons is our Arburg Allrounder 470C Golden Edition – a very versatile and colourful injection moulding machine.

RPM’s Arburg 470C, purchased in 2012, boasts an extensive variety of controllable peripherals, which can be adapted in conjunction with a range of injection moulding techniques to produce high quality, high specification injection moulds for use in a wide range of industries.

The Arburg has a superb ability to carry out manufacturing runs that require a high degree of repeat accuracy. This allows RPM to produce very high quality injection moulded components with very fine tolerances, every time.

The Arburg can  provide all injection moulding processes in the clamp force range of 125 – 5000 kN and has a good rate of efficiency with regulated injection, ensuring reproducible mould filling for a high quality end product.

Why does RPM own an injection moulding machine?

With all the Injection Moulding tools that we design and manufacture, it made good sense to invest in this neat, colourful injection moulding machine and put it to use in our facilities. This avoided the cost of out-sourcing many of our tools for trial, and the logistical challenges involved in ensuring that tools were in the right place at the right time, with the right materials.

Having our own injection moulding machine means RPM can run in house tool trials, and offer this service to other companies.

RPM can also offer our customers a full moulding service for short run productions, at a competitive price, with excellent lead times. Because our injection moulding machine is in house, we have optimum control over the entire process and can dedicate our time to ensure that we are getting the best possible results from the machine and the injection moulding tools we create.
