Friday 20th February 2015 saw the start of the Hawaiian Airlines – Amcham Auckland Ambrose Golf Tournament 2015 at the Grange Golf Club, Papatoetoe. Organised by Executive Director Mike Hearn.
RPM had two teams entered in this event which they have regularly entered for the last 3 years. The teams this year, included a mixture of staff and clients:

The A team; which consisted of RPM’s Pete Smith and Aaron Dwight, along with Jim Hunter, Engineering Manager at Sika Technologies Ltd and John Kennelly, Tool Design Manager at Fisher and Paykel Appliances Ltd.

The B Team consisted of RPM’s  Simon Eccleston, along with Don Pickering of FoodCap International Ltd and David Thumath, Director at CNC Direct Ltd and Steve Habershon, General Manager at Cospak Ltd.

The tournament took the Ambrose format to allow for golfers of all skill levels to be able to take part and enjoy the day with equal enjoyment regardless of ability. One score per hole is recorded based on the best shots from the team. The round of holes is then calculated with the best scores less the handicap of the team. Giving an end score usually somewhere close to the par score of the course. In the case of The Grange, this would be Par 70.

Congratulations to both teams from the day who both did exceptionally well, with the A team storming away with the first place trophy and a score of 53.7 and the B team finishing a fantastic fourth with a score of 54.7.

 

It is with much disappointment  that the Hawaiian Airlines draw for 100,000 Hawaiian Miles during the dinner and prize giving – which was initially won by David Thumath from CNC Direct, who had already departed for the day;  resulted in a re-draw.  Darn, that could have been a nice golf weekend or two!!
